Point Inside added two of the largest malls in Canada, CrossIron Mills and Rockland Centre. Both are owned by Ivanhoe Cambridge
CrossIron Mills, is a fully enclosed shopping center just outside of Calgary, Alberta. Completed in August 2009, the mall is the largest single-level shopping centre in Alberta with over 200 shops and restaurants. The mall boasts, “We’re different. We’re a little bit out there. We’re ‘Beyond the Ordinary.’” The unique architectural design of CrossIron Mills is an attraction unto itself that is not to be missed.
The first tenant to open in the mall was the first Alberta franchise of Bass Pro Shops and now includes anchor stores such as H&M, Bed Bath & Beyond, Pro Hockey Life, Toys ‘R’ Us and Winners. The mall includes specialty retailers similar to other super-regional malls, and also premium brand outlets stores.
Centre Rockland, is an upscale mall located in Montreal, Quebec. The mall features three floors and has a glass elevator. The first floor, which in fact is the mall’s underground level, only has four tenants: Sports Experts, a Nautilus Plus fitness club, a Eggspectation restaurant and a Urban Planet shop. The second floor, the main floor, features boutiques, as well as anchors Linen Chest, Pharmaprix and long time tenant la Baie. The top floor is comprised mostly of boutiques but also includes the mall’s food court.
