Point Inside Rides for MS

BikeMS Team 2014

If you are familiar with the culture at Point Inside, you know the company is home to many passionate cyclists, mountain bikers and bike commuters. You also know we get behind public causes. (We also sponsored CCFA's flag football event the same weekend). When world class cycling and a good cause happen to coincide, it doesn't take much to coral a group of Point Insiders to get in the saddle. That's exactly what happened earlier this month at the Bike MS Deception Pass Classic September 6 and 7. Thirteen people rode over 1,000 miles under the Point Inside banner through the Skagit Valley … [Read more...]

Point Inside at the CCFA Flag Football Tournament 2014

Panoramic View of CenturyLink Field

One word to describe our experience at CCFA’s inaugural Charity Flag Football tournament: EPIC. We had sunny weather, a beautiful field, and were part of an awesome event. As the title sponsor, Point Inside brought not 1, but 2 teams to the field. Each team played 3 games on the Seahawks’ CenturyLink Field, and we almost won a few! We thanked our captain, Bill, for scheduling all of those practices before the event because competition was tough! In the celebrity tournament, our CEO and co-founder Josh Marti represented us well on Team Doug, captained by Seahawk Doug Baldwin.  The team … [Read more...]

Seafair, Let’s Raise the Hydroplane Bar

Point Inside sponsored the Oh Boy! Oberto at Seafair for the fourth year in a row. Oberto is known as the fastest boat, so we thought we had a good chance of taking home the 2014 Albert Lee title. Unfortunately, there were a string of incidents that led to the defeat of the boat. Some were simply part of racing, and others were downright wrong. The U-6 Oberto boat got hit - twice in 2 weeks by the same boat. Then during the race, the U-1 boat pushed the Oberto boat outside of the track, making it having to travel a greater distance than the other boats. This gave the slower boats the … [Read more...]

Mountaineer Ed Viesturs Visits Point Inside

Ed Viesturs 1

Ed Viesturs, the first American to reach the peak of the 14 highest mountains in the world over 8,000 meters without oxygen, came by Point Inside last Thursday to tell his incredible story. Everyone in the audience was in awe of his athleticism, dedication, and determination. After 16 years, Ed reached his goal of climbing the 14 tallest mountains, known as the 8,000ers because they measure above 8,000 meters, or over 26, 247 feet. To put it in perspective, average cruising altitude for airlines is between 30-40,000 feet. At these high altitudes, climbers have to contend with the … [Read more...]

Point Inside Sponsors the First CCFA Flag Football Tournament

Point Inside has some of the biggest Seahawks fans out there. So we’re counting down the days until we get to play on the same field as the Seahawks - 3 days after they open the NFL season against the Green Bay Packers! We’re the proud sponsors of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America’s first Flag Football Tournament at CenturyLink Field on September 7. A Touch of Football will pit 16 intramural teams against each on the field to raise critical funds to find cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Point Inside Sponsors 2 Hydros for Seafair 2014!

Oh Boy! Oberto Hydroplane

It’s August - the sun is shining, and it’s 80 degrees in Seattle. This past weekend was a perfect time for Seafair and the annual H1 Unlimited Hydroplane race on Lake Washington. This year was our fourth year in a row sponsoring the fastest boat in the field, the Oh Boy! Oberto boat.  We also added the Miss DeJulio Seahawks themed boat to our portfolio. If you haven’t had a chance to experience hydroplane racing, watch it here. This year’s races were action packed, with a collision between the Oberto and Graham Trucking boats.  Oberto came in third despite suffering damage to the boat. … [Read more...]

Summer Picnic 2014

Dog Ordering Picnic 2014

One word to describe Point Inside’s company picnic this year: hot. The uncharacteristic humidity coupled with temperatures nearing 90 degrees made beverages more refreshing than ever. 70 employees and family members attended Point Inside’s company picnic on our VP Geary’s beautiful farm in Carnation, WA.  We enjoyed delicious food from food trucks How Pickle Got Out of a Jam and Contigo, and delectable cookies from Hello Robin. The dogs even tried to get in on the food by attempting to order at the counter. Of course, we did had races.  Attendees competed in the three-legged race, wheel … [Read more...]

Bike to Work Month 2014

Point Inside Biker with Amy

Point Inside's contingent of hardcore bike commuters rip serious asphalt on a daily basis. Most days, we ride for our own reasons. Some of us love the road, others love the trail, and all of us love the simple pleasure of passing through city, town and country under our own steam at our own pace. In a region replete with great roads and temperate (sometimes wet) weather, it’s hard to find reasons not to ride. That said May was a special month for us. We banded together in the name of the Commute Challenge to crank out miles upon miles. The numbers speak for themselves: 10 riders, 117 round … [Read more...]
