Some interesting tidbits about Dublin are that it has a vibrant nightlight and is reputably one of the most youthful cities in Europe, with an estimated 50% of its citizens being under 25 years old.  It is also has one of the fastest growing populations of any European capital city and GaWC gave Dublin an Alpha ranking placing Dublin among the top 25 cities in the world.

While visiting Dublin, definitely check out the Dublin Castle, one of the oldest landmarks dating back hundreds of years, and the Spire of Dublin, or officially titled the “Monument of Light.”

For the internationally best-known area for nightlife, head to the Temple Bar area just south of the River Liffey.  Be sure to catch some life music, street performers and visit small arts productions, photographic and artists’ studios.

If you’re a sports fan, the city is host to the 3^rd largest stadium in Europe, Croke Park, which holds 82,500 fans.  Traditionally, it hosts Gaelic football and hurling with the occasional big name concert with acts such as U2, Bon Jovi and Robbie Williams having played there in recent years.

Coquitlam Centre, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, is situated on 57 acres of land in the heart of the Tri-Cities.  Coquitlam Centre features over 910,000 square feet of retail on two spacious levels. Lynnhaven Mall, located in the heart of Virginia Beach, Virginia, just 10-minutes from the beautiful oceanfront, offers visitors an enormous selection of shopping, dining and entertainment options, with over 180 stores, 17 restaurants and eateries, and a state-of-the-art AMC Theatres with 18 screens and all stadium-style seating.  There’s a full selection of the most popular retailers, including Macy’s, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Brookstone, Ann Taylor Loft, Gap, Charlotte Russe, Express & ExpressMen, Limited, New York & Company, Sephora, and Victoria’s Secret, as well as large super stores like Barnes & Noble, H&M, Old Navy, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, along with choice retailers such as Banana Republic, Jessica McClintock, The Disney Store, Yankee Candle Company, and Build-A-Bear Workshop. Prince Kuhio Plaza,in Hilo, Hawaii, is the Big Island’s largest enclosed shopping center.  It has a variety of great department stores, unique specialty shops (including many with a Hawaiian theme) and a 9-screen stadium seating movie theatre. Shoppers no longer need to ask store employees the common question `Where is…?’ as items’ locations are represented as pins placed on an interior map of the store.   The application also provides updated information on weekly specials and product promotions available in the store, with the ability to instantly locate sale items.

During this pilot phase of the program, four Meijer supercenters have been enabled:

• Knapp’s Corner, at 1997 E Beltline NE, in Grand Rapids, Michigan
• Gaines Township, at 1801 Marketplace Drive, in Gaines Township, Michigan
• Grandville, at 3434 Century Center Drive SW, in Grandville, Michigan

In addition to locating specific items, and perusing current sales and promotions, shoppers can view a list of services available in the store and determine their locations, such as the customer service desk, restrooms, or even Sandy the penny pony.  Another feature is “Remember My Parking Spot”, which shows the location of your car in the Meijer parking lot, allowing you to quickly navigate to the correct exit when your shopping is done.  Finally, location and contact information for all Meijer stores is available.

This is just the beginning of a revolution in how people use their phones to find what they need when shopping.

Geodelic is part of our “Private API” program, by which we’re initially making our maps and destination content available to a few select app developers.  We’ve chosen to work with just a few developers initially to ensure our platform APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) are complete, robust, and thoroughly documented prior to making them more widely available.  This initial commercial integration and deployment is a big step toward opening up the Point Inside platform to additional developers, so look for more announcements coming soon!
